To our valued patients:
As you may be aware, the federal government officially entered a shutdown effective 12:00 midnight EST on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. We understand this news may be concerning, especially for those receiving benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), as well as those currently in the claim approval process.
Please rest assured: your care will continue as normal and will not be interrupted. Giving Home Health Care remains open, fully operational, and committed to delivering the same high-quality, compassionate care you’ve come to expect. We’re also here to provide reassurance and clear communication amid ongoing news coverage or other information you might be hearing about these updates.
Here’s what you can expect during this time:
- No change to your benefits or services: You or your loved one will continue to receive the same, qualified in-home health care from us without change or interruption. We also do not expect any disruption to family caregiver compensation, access to durable medical equipment, pharmacy services.
- Potential federal delays in response times: While the shutdown remains active, you may experience longer wait times on responses for your outstanding EEOICPA claims. This is to be expected, but the process has not stopped. Please continue to monitor your mail for any DOL communications and promptly notify your care team when they arrive.
- Support every step of the way: Responses and approvals may be slow during this time, but our EEOICPA experts are here to answer questions and address any concerns related to this government shutdown and continue supporting you throughout your claims journey.
Your confidence and peace of mind are our top priorities. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your care team or contact your local office directly.
Thank you for your continued trust in Giving Home.
