This month, we’re pleased to spotlight Price Wooding, who recently celebrated one year as Executive Director of HME at GivingHME, a sister company to Giving Home Health Care. With nearly two decades of experience in durable medical equipment (DME), Price brings a unique blend of industry knowledge, entrepreneurial drive, and a deep commitment to patient care.
Price’s DME career began right after high school in a small power mobility facility in San Diego. Originally hired for a receptionist position, he was promoted to Operations Manager within weeks, quickly gaining firsthand experience in logistics and national fulfillment. That early introduction sparked a long-term passion for the industry and eventually led to a business partnership that saw him opening several DME locations across California, Texas, and Colorado.
Over the years, Price has developed expertise across a wide range of medical equipment, including mobility aids, orthopedic supplies, and pain management products. He’s always been fascinated by the operational and compliance side of the business, diving deep into the extra pages and fine print most would overlook (“Much to my wife’s dismay when it comes to our lease agreement,” Price jokes). That curiosity and attention to detail continues to serve him well today as he navigates programs such as EEOICPA and RECA.
In the years leading up to his current role, Price led DME operations for the Panorama Orthopedics and Spine in Colorado, worked with national organizations such as Humana and the American Cancer Society, and launched his own full-time DME consulting practice in Denver. In early 2024, he was introduced to Benjamin Hanson and Michael Kelley and was immediately struck by their alignment on values, vision, and commitment to patient care. “What enamored me about Giving was the true expression of their core values,” he notes, pointing to the consistency and authenticity shown at every level of the organization.
No two days are the same for Price, who oversees a wide range of efforts to support GivingHME’s growing operations. As the business continues to expand, he remains deeply involved in every part of the process – from finding new manufacturing partnerships and building brand awareness at events, to educating his growing team and finding new ways to improve the patient experience in all locations. GivingHME currently supports White Card holders across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Missouri, with plans underway to expand into additional regions soon.
Price describes Giving Home’s culture as one of “accessible professionalism”: a balance of high standards and open, collaborative learning. It’s a place where individuals at every level are empowered to ask questions, seek improvement, and grow in both skill and confidence. One of the most rewarding aspects of his role is the opportunity to work alongside a team that genuinely cares — not just about getting equipment into patients’ hands, but ensuring that it’s the right equipment, delivered with empathy and support. Whether it’s a respiratory therapist walking a patient through product specifics, an HME specialist advocating for approvals over the phone, or a delivery technician setting up and educating on equipment in a home, each interaction is grounded in compassion and purpose.
With a catalog of 1,000+ DME items expanding daily, the GivingHME team works hard to ensure they are only providing the best possible product. Rather than just finding something on Amazon, patients can speak to an expert who can match them with equipment that has been tested, coded, and certified to provide the assistance they need. For Price, DME is more than product fulfillment — it’s a direct, tangible part of healthcare that can greatly impact a patient’s daily life. “It’s easy to ship something to a patient’s home,” he shares, “but it becomes so much more when you know that this is an item that will stay with them, and they can be proud of.”
Outside of work, Price is busy settling into life in Austin with his wife, Riley. The two love exploring the city, visiting nearby small towns, and spending time outdoors. Together, they share a love of reading, board games, and learning new things. They are currently tackling the art of chess (slowly, but with enthusiasm!).
As GivingHME expands its reach, Price’s leadership, experience, and passion for patient care are helping shape a strong foundation for what’s ahead. Thank you, Price, for all you bring to our team!
