ATTENTION POST-'71 WORKERS:  RECA is back, and you may now be eligible for benefits.   LEARN MORE

Radiation Exposure Compensation Act

Created to protect the interests of former or current employees who contracted certain types of cancer as a result of exposure to aboveground radiation or exposure to uranium mines. RECA provides lump sum compensation and benefits to Onsite Participants, Uranium Millers, Miners, Ore Transporters, and Core Drillers.

Thanks to new federal legislation, RECA has been revived and expanded to include extended work years and roles, additional compensation and benefits, and even new geographic areas.

If you were previously denied or ineligible for RECA, weโ€™re here to help. Let our experienced team help you revisit your case, file a new claim, or simply get the answers you deserve.

Section 5 of RECA outlines the employment types available for claim filing.

  • Section 5 Includes:
    • Uranium Millers
    • Uranium Miners
    • Ore Transporters
    • Core Drillers

If you received a lump-sum award under RECA Section 5, you may also be eligible for additional compensation under EEOICPA โ€” including a $50,000 payment and medical benefits through Part B, and up to $250,000 through Part E based on your impairment rating and wage-loss determinations.

RECA provides lump sum compensation to those who contracted specific diseases and were employed in covered occupations.

  • Up to $100,000 for Uranium workers
  • Up to $100,000 for Onsite Participants who were present during atomic weapons tests
