The United States Department of Labor (DOL) administers the program known as the EEOICPA or Energy Employee Occupational Compensation Program Act. This program was designed specifically to help those who worked in the Nuclear Weapons programs and supporting industry to the Nuclear Weapons programs during the cold war and ongoing. EEOICPA provides many necessary benefits and compensation to United States Department of Energy workers. The United States Department of Justice works with and helped to establish RECA or Radiation Exposure Compensation Act. RECA made it possible for Uranium Miners, Millers and Haulers to receive a one-time payment and then possible to receive ongoing care or benefit through EEOICPA.
