Miner, Miller, or Hauler

  • You must have been employed in uranium mines or mills, or transported uranium ore in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming between January 1st, 1941, and December 31st, 1971.
  • You must have been exposed to 40 or more working-level months of radiation or worked for at least one year in a uranium mine during the relevant time period.
  • As a uranium miller or transporter, you must have worked for at least one year during the relevant time period.

Nuclear Worker

  • You must prove you are a current or former employee, contractor, or subcontractor at an approved Department of Energy (DOE) or atomic weapons employer facility.
  • You must also prove that you suffer from an illness caused by exposure to radiation or toxins during DOE employment.

Common qualifying conditions

Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) Cancers: (If the employee worked at an SEC facility, worked during the SEC dates, meets latency period, and has a supportive pathology report for a one of the 22 types of cancer listed below, it will be an automatic approval)

Cancers that will go through a Dose Reconstruction or through a Part E Toxic Substance Exposure: (not automatic approval)
